Zach's Bio
Background
I grew up on Bainbridge Island, a ferry boat ride away from Seattle, Washington. I play Lacrosse and Soccer and am also an active rock climber, love to hike and spend time outdoors.
Throughout high school I worked for a NGO called The Netza Project that provided education for indigenous children in Mexico. In my final year working for the NGO I became more involved in a small microfinance program for the mothers of some of the students. I was amazed by what these women were able to do with access to capital and jumped on the opportunity to help Chris found MFI Connect. While studying in Ecuador, after coming back from our summer in Guatemala, I worked for Freedom From Hunger, a microfinance organization that provides non-financial services to microfinance borrowers such as basic health education. Most recently, I interned as a strategy consultant for Deloitte Consulting LLP.
As a senior at Claremont McKenna College college I am figuring out what to with the rest of my life. I eventually want to pursue a career in social entrepreneurship to combine the efficiency and scalability of business models to drive social impact. How am I going to get there?... all I can do is continue doing crazy things like Living on One Dollar a Day to learn and explore where I fit into this world.
